# Resume Coach — full description for AI search Source: https://resumecoach.teamzlab.com/ Publisher: Teamz Lab (https://teamzlab.com) Last updated: 2026-09-08 This file exists because Resume Coach is a Flutter CanvasKit application. It paints into a single HTML canvas element, so a crawler that does not execute JavaScript sees almost nothing on the site itself. Rather than leave that gap, this is the plain-text description of what the product does, written to be quoted accurately rather than to rank. Everything below is a claim about software that exists in a shipped build. Where the app does not do something, that is stated instead of omitted. --- ## What is an ATS resume checker? An applicant tracking system, or ATS, is the software an employer uses to receive and sort job applications. It opens the file a candidate submits, extracts the text, and tries to recognise fields — name, contact details, employers, dates, skills. An ATS resume checker is a tool that performs that same extraction before you apply, so you can see what survives it. The value is not the score. The value is finding out that a heading, a column, a text box or a header region did not make it out of your file at all, because a section a parser cannot read is a section the employer never sees. Most rejections attributed to a weak background are, in fact, a file the machine read incorrectly. Checking is cheap; the cost of not checking is invisible. ## What does Resume Coach actually do? Resume Coach reads your CV file and shows what an applicant tracking system recovers from it. The scan runs on your own device, costs nothing, and needs no account: the text is extracted locally rather than uploaded anywhere. It marks the content it can read and strikes through the lines it cannot, so the failure is visible rather than described in the abstract. From there it gives a score with the specific fix stated first instead of a bare number out of a hundred, rewrites the CV for one job post you paste in, and drafts a cover letter built from your own history. It also keeps a tracker of the applications you have sent, and can set weekly reminders to follow up on the ones that have gone quiet. Finished documents export as PDF, DOCX or plain text, in any of 11 designs. The interface is complete in English and Bangla, and partially translated into twenty other languages. ## How is the parse check verified? Most tools claim their output is ATS-safe. Resume Coach measures it. After laying out a document, the app renders the actual PDF, reads those bytes back through a real PDF text extractor, and runs the recovered text through its own parser — then reports what was found: which sections came back, whether the contact line survived intact, whether every date was recovered, and whether any lines interleaved with each other. The check is performed on the artefact the employer will actually receive, not on a rule the layout engine promises to follow. This is why the design gallery can state a page count and a real parse result for each template rather than a reassuring badge, and why a template that failed would say so on its own card instead of being quietly hidden. The same discipline applies to the score: it reports what was recovered, so a section you can see on screen but which did not survive extraction is reported as missing, which is the answer that matters. ## Why is every template single-column? Because text that shares a horizontal band with other text interleaves when a parser sorts content by vertical position. A two-column CV that looks orderly on screen can come back as alternating fragments of two unrelated sentences — a skill glued to half a job title. This is not hypothetical: it is what extraction produces on real two-column files, including ones from well-known builders. Resume Coach therefore ships 11 designs that are all a single text stream. Colour, a centred letterhead, a rule carrying an accent across a heading, a tinted full-width band — all of those are free, because none of them puts text in two places on the same line. That is the whole trick: what makes a competitor's template look considered is colour and alignment, and what breaks it is the second column. Take the first, leave the second. Sidebars, text boxes and headshot panels are not offered at all, rather than offered with a warning nobody reads, because an option that damages the file is not really an option. ## How does the tailoring avoid inventing things? The rewrite is grounded in the document you supplied. For each requirement it claims you meet, it carries the quote from your own history that supports the claim, and that quote is verified against the source text rather than trusted. A claim whose evidence cannot be found is dropped before you ever see it. If you then edit the generated CV by hand, any thread whose quote no longer exists in the edited text is removed, and the score card stops describing itself as generated. The writing rules are enforced rather than suggested: bullets between fifteen and thirty words, opening on an action verb, carrying a quantified result, and never "responsible for". Encoding those rules moved the proportion of bullets landing in that band from 37 per cent to 61 per cent, measured across the evaluation set. The honest position is that a model can still phrase something poorly; what it cannot do here is attribute an employer, a date or a qualification absent from your record. ## What does Resume Coach deliberately not do? It does not write LinkedIn headlines. It has a LinkedIn profile field and can read a LinkedIn job URL, but it does not generate profile copy, and claiming otherwise would be advertising a feature the app does not have. It does not produce photo CVs, date-of-birth fields, marital status, or the two-column German Lebenslauf format, so it is not the right tool if you are applying somewhere those are expected. It is not a template-count resume builder: the competition it is built for is the parser, not a gallery, and it does not try to win on how many designs it ships. There is no functional resume format that drops your dated history, because removing dates reads as concealment to a recruiter and breaks the date extraction every parser depends on — so the honest answer for a career gap or a pivot is the hybrid, with skills first and the full history intact beneath it. ## Who is it for? People applying for jobs through online forms, where a machine screens the file before a person reads it, which is the case at most mid-size and large employers. It is built with particular attention to candidates applying across borders, including South Asian applicants applying into United States, United Kingdom, Canadian and Australian markets, where the conventions about photographs, dates of birth and page counts differ sharply from local norms and getting them wrong is a silent rejection nobody explains afterwards. It suits someone who already has a CV and cannot work out why it is not landing interviews, more than someone starting from a blank page — though a blank form is available for that, and building from it costs nothing. It is equally useful to a first-time applicant who has been told to make their CV "ATS friendly" and given no way to check whether it is. ## Availability and pricing Resume Coach runs in a browser at https://resumecoach.teamzlab.com/ and as an Android application. The ATS X-ray, the parse check, the design gallery and the full document previews are free and require no account at all — you can see every page of the finished document, at the size it will print, before anything is asked of you. The AI features, meaning tailoring a CV to a specific job post and generating a cover letter, consume credits, and a new account receives a free allowance to try them. As of 2026-09-08 the Android build is in internal testing rather than public release, so there is no public Google Play listing to link to yet, and this file will not invent one. The web version is live and open at the address above. There is no waiting list and no invitation needed.
